Quote-to-Cash with Intelligence: Agentforce Revenue Management Today
There are many companies that run quoting, ordering, billing, revenue recognition and amendments as separate systems. We see cases where invoicing a signed deal takes many manual steps, many systems and so many people checking each other’s work. Quoting is often disconnected from ordering, ordering from billing, and case management from all of it, leaving sales, finance and support teams losing connection and adding more manual work. Salesforce came up with a solution to this growing issue in the market to run quote-to-cash faster, but with more intelligence.
This is what I wanted to write about today: how Agentforce Revenue Management (ARM) is the modern foundation for quote-to-cash, and Agentforce is the layer that automates and accelerates the work running on top of it as an AI agent. The market today is built in a way that you can’t escape AI agents, and we need to adapt them into our business processes.
Reditus consultants have already built Agentforce scenarios inside Revenue Cloud for a real client, and in this article, I’ll walk you through what ARM and Agentforce are, how they integrate, and what we’ve built for the customers.
“I’ve never heard of ARM. Where did CPQ or Revenue Cloud go?”
Well, Salesforce has renamed this product more than once. That’s probably why it slipped off your horizon. It started as a standalone tool called Salesforce CPQ. Then a new, more complete cloud was built to replace it, first called Revenue Cloud, then Revenue Lifecycle Management, and since Dreamforce 2025, Agentforce Revenue Management. Each name change has come with the tool actually getting stronger and technically going deeper.
Today ARM runs the whole revenue lifecycle natively inside Salesforce. It ties quoting, billing, subscriptions, amendments, renewals, and order management into one connected process, from configure-price-quote through to contract, orders, assets, and billing. That gives teams a fuller view of the revenue cycle than CPQ ever could. But the real difference is the AI agent, called Agentforce, that basically brings intelligence to every task you do.
“What is Agentforce and why do I need it?”
The market shows that everything is now shifting toward AI agents, and Salesforce is no exception. In short, Agentforce takes over the repetitive, time-consuming work across pricing, quoting, contracting, and billing: writing quotes, summarizing records, handling routine cases, drafting renewals. It also pulls together approval summaries and actively flags anything unusual, like quotes that don’t add up, renewals at risk, inconsistent pricing, or missing data.
Of course, it frees up your team to spend time on the things that actually need a human. It’s almost limitless. It is just up to you how you design and use it. You can build it to handle almost any task in your revenue processes.
“How do Agentforce and ARM actually work together?”
Recently, we have a built demo agent for customers.
The agent we built was meant to bridge the gap between support and sales. In reality, these lines can become blurred, and support becomes a source of upsell as well as processing order intake. Our agent reflects that, by detecting upsell opportunities in support chats via the customer portal, immediately offering the customer additional products, and creating the Quote – or even going straight to the Order.
As ARM is API-driven, pricing is always calculated via the exact same rules as when human agents perform the same actions. This ensures a frictionless experience for the customer. This way the quote-to-cash process becomes faster and smarter.
Also, another client complained about the high volume of customer inquiries they had to handle, so they needed a case management tool within Salesforce. They wanted automatic analysis and summaries of the cases, and, if there was an opportunity for upselling, to create an opportunity and quote automatically.
We taught the agent to read the case description, generate a summary in human-readable language, identify the problem, and update existing cases automatically by adding comments, adjusting fields, and recording interactions. Also, it can create a case, generate a clear subject line and description, and link it to the relevant contact or account.
And in case during the chat with the agent, a user requested a product replacement because the previous one was broken, the agent immediately generates a new opportunity and quote with the requested product. It adds specified additional products and discounts to a quote while respecting business rules. Upon request, the agent can submit a quote for approval.
Agentforce sits natively inside ARM, when the agent acts, it’s working within the real data model. And the use cases go well beyond quoting: generating quote documents, creating and activating orders, submitting orders for fulfillment, reviewing and issuing invoices, posting or voiding invoices, and plenty more
As mentioned before, its power is limitless. What you build with it is mostly a matter of how far you want to take it.
